Nome Científico Turdus merula azorensis
Description Breeds in woods, parks and gardens. Feeds on worms, insects, berries and nests in bushes, hedgerows and stone walls. Plumage is black, the tail square and relatively long. Legs are black. Ocular ring and beak are yellow. Females’ plumage is a more subtle brown with the breast and belly slightly speckled, sometimes with a reddish hue. Beak is brownish.
