The music festivals held during summer in the municipality of Nordeste, in Povoação, and the "Festa do Chicharro" in the parish of Ribeira Quente are of great importance in the Lands of Priolo.
Cycling, running events and even the SATA Rally Açores also take place in the Lands of Priolo.
The municipalities promote sporting events throughout the year in cooperation with local associations. Cultural events such as exhibitions, concerts and craft fairs are held throughout the year, although with less frequency.
An event worth noting, that occurs in the village of Furnas, is the Camellias Festival. Locally known as Camélias or Japan Roses, they are originated from the East and were introduced by the British in the 19th century. First these plants were used only in half a dozen gardens in Furnas and Ponta Delgada, gradually spreading a bit everywhere. In autumn and winter Camellias bloom all over Vale das Furnas, forming stiff hedges. Thanks to new crossing techniques new beautiful and noteworthy varieties of Camellia were born. Furnas hosts the International Meeting of Ancient Camellias, in which distinct varieties of this species are arranged to form a beautiful display of floral arrangements that undoubtedly deserve a visit and contemplation.
The gastronomic fairs, such as the one held biannually in the village of Nordeste, also deserve special highlight. Other smaller gastronomic events are held in other parishes during summer festivities and/or local religious festivities.
