Here, the mark of faith is clearly visible: churches, chapels, niches, shrines, “triatos” and “houses of the Holy Spirit”. These structures constitute the most significant architectural heritage of the parishes of Nordeste and Povoação, closely linked to local religious  faith.

All parishes of Lands of Priolo have their Christian religious institutions and churches, which reflect the historical-cultural heritage and serve as a connection between the present and the past. The shrines, small Christian’s temples, are located outside the villages or in uninhabited places, belonging to individuals or parishes. The niches and "alminhas" are small religious structures, generally located by the roads or in the center of the villages. These structures symbolize the reverence and religious devotion. The “triatos of the Holy Spirit” and “houses of the Holy Spirit” are associated with festivities in honor of the Holy Spirit.
