Scientific Name
Columba palumbus azorica
Description Breeds in woods, parks and urban gardens. Forages in fields and meadows. Nest is a simple structure of twigs, built in trees. Large white patch on neck, white transversal wing bars, relatively long square tail. Plumage of upper parts is essentially grey, with pinkish tinge to throat and breast. Beak is short, fine and reddish. Legs are short and red.
