The island of São Miguel is served by João Paulo II airport, with regular air connections to the other islands of the archipelago, Portuguese mainland and other international destinations.

During high season, a boat insures the connection between the island of São Miguel (Gare Maritime, Ocean Terminal - Portas do Mar, in Ponta Delgada) and the other islands of the archipelago.

To go to the Land of Priolo, located in the eastern end of the island of São Miguel, you can choose to rent a car, go by taxi or use the bus connecting Ponta Delgada to the municipalities of  Nordeste and Povoação.

The municipality of Povoação is located in the eastern part of the southern coast of the island, about 60 km from the city of Ponta Delgada. The municipality of Nordeste is located northeast of the island. Following the Regional Road, it lies about about 80 km from Ponta Delgada. Opting for expressway (SCUT), the distance approaches 65 km.

How to get around in the Lands of Priolo?

The Lands of Priolo are served by a network of public transport, although there are certain limitations of schedule and connections between the counties.

Taxi is another mobility option in the municipalities of Nordeste and Povoação, constituting a widely used means of transportation, both by tourists and local population.

Another possibility is car rental. There are two Rent-a-Car agencies, located in the municipality of Povoação.
