Born in Lisbon in 1961. He graduated in History from the Faculty of Arts of Lisbon Classical University, in 1988.
He holds a post-graduation course in Heritage, Museology and Development from the University of the Azores.
He participated in the seminars: "The Ethnological Heritage of the Museums in the Azores"; “Preventive Preservation in Museums, Libraries and Archives"; "Cross-Border Mobility and
Regional Development"; "Tourism and Development in Santa Maria"; "The Educational Service of Museums – Experiences and New Projects". He has also taken part in the following training courses: "The Educational Service of Museums – Methodologies and Application"; "Packaging and Transporting Museum Artefacts"; "Programming and Producing Exhibitions"; "Producing Cultural Events in Libraries, Archives, Museums and Cultural Centres".
He attended the following meetings: "Reflections of Aveiro" and the 12th National Meeting of Museology and Local Government.
He currently holds the position of Senior Officer - class 1 in the personnel of Santa Maria Museum. He was the Director of this institution from 1996 to 1999, and was appointed to this post again in 2001, which he has held since then.
He wrote the work "Places in Portugal to Visit" which was published by Reader’s Digest, in a set of three articles on the island of Santa Maria.
