The President of the Government expressed today, on behalf of the Regional Government, "deep sorrow" over the death of the Member of the European Parliament, André Bradford, an "Azorean who dignified political activity in the most varied positions he held on behalf of the Autonomous Region of the Azores."
"In the various political and executive positions he has held over several years, André Bradford has always stood out for his lucidity, intelligence and capacity for dialogue to build bridges even when obstacles seemed insurmountable,” stressed Vasco Cordeiro.
According to the President of the Government, these capabilities were "so necessary to political activity," but above all their human qualities "deserved the just recognition of all those who had the privilege of knowing him."
"I had the privilege to see André Bradford's unconditional love for his land, a feeling that made him choose politics as a way and as a means to serve in the exercise of public duties," said Vasco Cordeiro.
"For this reason - because of the premature death of an Azorean who has never given up helping his Region to be better - I feel the Azores have lost one of their best citizens. But he leaves us a legacy we must honour - in his memory and on behalf of our land," stressed the President of the Government.
