The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Environment opens Monday, June 15, the application period for the support measures under PRORURAL+ programme to the development of local development strategies under the LEADER approach.
The development of these strategies aims to present Community-based Local Development projects to the population living in rural areas in order to promote job creation and the maintenance of the population in their area of residence.
The ordinance establishing the sub-measures "Preparatory Support," whose application period opens on June 15, and "Support for Operating Costs," whose application period starts on July 1.
The legislation also establishes the rules for the selection and implementation of Local Development Strategies, previously prepared by Local Action Groups, including ADELIAÇOR, ARDE, ASDEPR and GRATER.
The LEADER approach stimulates the territories of rural areas to search for new ways to remain or become more competitive. This will contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in rural areas both for farm families and the population in general, through a comprehensive approach for the resolution of the problems these areas face.
As a regional programme, PRORURAL + implements measures and actions aimed at the diversification and the development of new economic activities that contribute to the creation of wealth and employment by optimising local resources and revitalise the growth of populations.
