According to an ordinance published in the Official Journal, the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Forestry, João Ponte, has approved the payment of 69 applications under the 1st phase of SAFIAGRI III, representing a public investment of 122 thousand Euros.
These 69 applications correspond to an investment of 9.3 million Euros carried out by farmers, through bank loans.
Established in March 2016, SAFIAGRI III is a support line intended to compensate farmers by subsidising 30% of interest and stamp duty loans applied to investments in farms.
The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry, through the Regional Directorate for Agriculture, has already paid or processed for payment a total of 784 applications under the 1st phase of SAFIAGRI III, corresponding to an investment of 113.7 million Euros and a public funding of 1.3 million Euros.
In the first phase of applications to SAFIAGRI III, 826 applications were submitted for investments in the sector, which represent an overall investment of 123 million Euros and a public expenditure of 1.4 million Euros.
Of the total applications submitted, 95% have been paid or are in the process of being paid (784 applications), 3% have been refused (24 applications) and the remaining 18 require further information from beneficiaries or are under analysis.
For the second phase, the Regional Directorate for Agriculture registered 769 applications for loans amounting to 120 million Euros of investment made in farms.
