Regional Entrepreneurship Competition - "IdeiAçores" brings together 86 participants from 29 regional schools
The fifth edition of the Regional Entrepreneurship Competition - "IdeiAçores" brings together 86 participants from 29 regional schools, who will present their business ideas to an expert jury. The formal session will take place at the University of the Azores in Ponta Delgada on May 29.
The initiative, which takes the form of a Summer Camp, will be held at the University of the Azores and at Ponta Delgada Youth Hostel from May 27 to 29.
The "Summer Camp" features a learning component, such as workshops and Pitch Training, where participants will have the opportunity to improve the presentation of the projects in competition.
Moreover, the initiative includes moments of socialisation, the organisation of games in a healthy competitive environment, as well as some surprises.
The Regional Competition "IdeiAçores" is the culmination of the Programme "Entrepreneurial Education: The Path to Success," a project developed by the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorates for Youth and Education, in collaboration with the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA).
The programme was extended to elementary school in this year's edition, thus covering all levels of education.
In this age group, the programme is developed based on the "Adventures of Gaspar," an entrepreneurship project specifically developed for the Elementary School level. It tells the stories and the day-to-day life of a character and his friends with the aim of making students acquainted with the word "entrepreneurship."
The programme "Entrepreneurial Education: The Path to Success" aims to raise the awareness of teachers and students for the potentialities of entrepreneurship and the opportunity to control their-future. This will allow them to create their own job and, simultaneously, contribute to an active employment policy and to the generation of wealth in the Region.
