The first edition of AMOSTRAM'ISSE - Azores Film Cycle will travel to the city of Porto, where several Azorean films will be exhibited at the House of Arts. The film cycle starts today and continues on May 20 and 23.
AMOSTRAM'ISSE is supported by the Regional Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth, and is organised by the "Burra de Milho" Cultural Association. The main goal of this initiative is to bring audiences closer to the cinematic reality of the Azores as well as to regional creators and the main trends.
The presentation of the Azores Film Cycle in Porto aims not only to disseminate Azorean talents at a national level, but also to encourage the appreciation of the artistic talent of Azorean youngsters by experts and the public in general.
Thus, the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth, strengthens the efforts to promote the works by young Azorean creators.
The support to cultural and creative industries has been a major goal for the Government, especially the support to creativity and regional production as evidenced by the programmes developed by the Regional Directorate for Youth: "LABJOVEM - Young Creators of the Azores Competition" and "Põe-te em Cena" (Get into Scene).
Last year, AMOSTRAM'ISSE was shown in four cities, including Angra do Heroísmo (June), Horta (July), Ponta Delgada (October) and Lisbon (November).
