Regional Government to strengthen promotion of entrepreneurship in this legislative period
The Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs announced in Angra do Heroísmo that the Government of the Azores will "enhance the promotion of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture in this legislative period." The goal will be accomplished through a series of actions and support partnerships so that the Azorean youth may have "new and innovative initiatives as well as more and better opportunities."
Berto Messias spoke at the end of an audience with André Leonardo, the promoter of entrepreneurship initiatives and ambassador of the Regional Directorate for Youth for Education for Entrepreneurship, stressing the importance of "a proactive attitude of the Azorean youth."
"Entrepreneurship cannot be limited to a business perspective. It should be address as an attitude towards life and society," stressed Berto Messias. According to him, "saying that more proactive and entrepreneurial society will always be a better society is not a common place; it is rather an unquestionable truth and we need to strengthen this path. "
"The Government has developed many projects covering many young people such as the Entrepreneurial Education initiative, which reached more than 7,700 children and young people, or the "Make the Azores Happen" project." The latter was developed in partnership with André Leonardo, covering 31 schools and about 2,700 students," said Berto Messias.
"These programmes will continue; they are expected to reach more young people and involve more partners," said the Regional Secretary. He stressed that he intends to "launch other initiatives to promote proactivity and free youth initiatives, not only through training mechanisms and the increase of skills for the creation of new businesses and companies but also through the promotion of greater civic participation and more commitment to building our future."
