Azorean Government and House of the Azores of São Paulo organise "Açores Divino Açores" exhibition
The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Communities, organises in partnership with the House Azores of São Paulo the exhibition "Açores Divino Açores" (Azores Divine Azores)."
The exhibition will open tomorrow, April 11, at 8:30 PM and will be attended by the Regional Director for Communities on behalf of the President of the Government of the Azores. The exhibition will be open to the public at one of the largest shopping centres in São Paulo - Shopping Anália Franco - which is popular among a sophisticated clientele with high purchasing power. This shopping centre receives a daily average ranging between 45 to 50 thousand people.
From April 11 to 22, Brazilian citizens and tourists from around the world will have the possibility to experience "Azoreanity" at its best. Large-sized images depicting the nine Azorean islands and the provision of information on several areas such as tourism, economy and investment, culture and religious traditions will be the main aspects on display at the main square of the Shopping Anália Franco.
The exhibition also includes a stage where several musical and folk dance groups will perform: musical groups from Rio Grande do Sul, folklore dance groups from the Houses of the Azores of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and the Grupo Tributo (Azores). A Holy Spirit "império" will be built as a symbol of unity and faith of all the Azoreans scattered around the world. There will also be a space dedicated to the dissemination of Azorean products as well as to the promotion of the Azores destination by the Regional Directorate for Tourism (DRT) and the Agency for the Promotion of Investment in the Azores (APIA). The opening session will be attended by the Regional Director for Communities and various local authorities.
The House of the Azores of São Paulo is a nonprofit Luso-Brazilian entity that aims to bring closer the Azoreans, their descendants and supporters as well as to maintain and disseminate the Azorean culture, folklore and traditions. Founded on June 22, 1980 this association has developed several projects, including the Holy Spirit celebrations, one of its most important events. These celebrations are part of the city's social calendar, being attended by nearly 50 thousand people.
