The Government of the Azores promotes the film cycle "DOC_EUROPA III" on the island of Flores between September 20 and 22. This initiative consists in the exhibition of documentaries from each EU Member-State that focus on the theme "The European Union of Citizens."
The coming of "DOC_EUROPA III" to the Azores, which takes place in the context of the European Year of Citizens, intends to raise the Region's awareness for European cultural diversity and the reflection on the conditions and exercise of citizenship in the European Union.
The sessions will take place at the Boqueirão Environmental Interpretation Centre and are scheduled for Friday, September 20, at 7 PM and 9:30 PM; the Saturday and Sunday sessions are scheduled at 3 PM, 5 PM, 7 PM and 9:30 PM. Admission is free and all films are subtitled in Portuguese.
"DOC_EUROPA III" was promoted by the Representation of the European Commission in Portugal and the Jacques Delors European Information Centre, through the Portuguese Documentary Association (APORDOC). The initiative was brought to the Azores by the Regional Government through the Cabinet of the Regional Under Secretary for European Affairs and External Cooperation in partnership with 9500 Film Society. The sessions to be held on the island of Flores are promoted in partnership with Flores Youth Association.
"DOC_EUROPA III" will then travel to the island of Corvo, where it will be exhibited at the Multipurpose Hall from October 4 to 6 in a partnership with Corvo Youth Association.
