The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Carlos Machado Museum, promotes a conference on "Tourism and Traditions" included in the cycle "Domingos Rebêlo under multiple perspectives" that takes place next Friday, July 8, at Santa Bárbara Centre in Ponta Delgada at 6:30 PM.
This session will feature the participation of Ana Isabel Moniz, who will deliver a paper on "Museums and tourism. - improving the tourist experience in museological reality."
Ana Isabel Moniz holds a PhD in Economics and Business from the University of the Azores. She is Assistant Professor at this university in the area of Social Sciences, Economics and Management.
The session will also feature the participation of musician Rafael Carvalho, who will present the work "Domingos Rebêlo and the Two-hearted Guitar." It includes the performance of "Viola da Terra" (traditional Azorean guitar) repertoire.
Rafael Carvalho teaches "Viola da Terra" at the Ponta Delgada Regional Conservatory. He plays an active role in the research and dissemination of traditional repertoire as well as in the development of complementary learning methods. He is also the author of originals released on CD.
