Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive promotes summer workshops
The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive, promotes various recreational and educational workshops for youngsters during the month of July. The initiative is part of the strategy for the dissemination if "Mutatis Mutandis" exhibition.
All workshops will take place from 2 to 3 PM; participation requires the submission of the respective registration form. They propose several activities that combine the reuse of materials with the creativity of participants.
The workshop "There are always hats for a good head" takes places from July 2 to 6 and is directed to children aged between 8 and 12. In the context of this activity, children will reuse several materials, creating a fun hat and an original bag; the latter will be developed in partnership with Angra do Heroísmo Science Centre.
In turn, the workshop "Riddles with numbers" will be held in the second week of the month, from July 9 to 13, being addressed at children from 7 to 10 years. It will challenge children in the creation of games using numbers.
Inspired by the book entitled "Art to discover, paint and imagine," the workshop "Cut, paste and reuse" will take place from July 16 to 20 for children aged between 10 and 14 and from July 30 to August 3 for children aged between 6 and 9. Participants will create images, reusing various materials such as fabrics, coloured paper trimmings and jewellery, among other objects.
Between July 23 and 27, children from 5 to 8 years will have the opportunity to participate in the workshop "From our hands," an activity inspired by the book entitled "Draw with tour Fingers." It will challenge participants to create drawings and illustrations of scenes depicting nature, accompanied by fairies, monsters and witches, using various paints and materials.
