Two adapted sport athletes distinguished at the 16th Azorean Sports Gala on Santa Maria Island
Two adapted sport athletes from Santa Maria were distinguished at the 16th Gala of Azorean Sport that took place Monday in Vila do Porto.
Liliana Soares Sousa, 1st place in the in the National Individual ANDDI Championship (National Sports Association for Intellectual Development) in Triathlon and 400g Javelin, and Rui Alberto Andrade Tavares, 1st place in the in the National Individual ANDDI Championship in 1,500 metres, received the awards from the Regional Director for Sport, António Gomes.
These two athletes of "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Vila do Porto were distinguished in the category "National Results and Classifications and International Participation - Individual Sports - Adapted Sport."
The first of six prize delivery sessions of the 16th Azorean Sports Gala, held Clube Asas do Atlântico, also distinguished sports leaders Maria Moura Resendes and Paulo Moura Resendes; both have been at the service of Santa Maria Handball Association for over 20 years.
This session of the Azorean Sports Gala held on Santa Maria involved the participation of the Occupational Activity Centre of "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Vila do Porto.
