Regional Directorate for Culture to receive applications for support programmes for the year 2016 until the end of August
The applications for support programmes developed by the Regional Directorate for Culture for the year 2016, which will be made under new specific legislation, are taking place until the end of August.
The Regional Director for Culture, Nuno Lopes, stressed that, after the application phase, cultural agents will be able to submit next year the applications for support to projects that will be implemented in 2017. In turn, the application for 2018 will be submitted in 2017.
According to the others published by the Regional Secretary for Education and Culture published today in the Official Journal will grant, through financing contracts to be signed with 227 entities in 2015, a sum over 727 thousand Euros.
Of this amount, more than 577 thousand Euros were allocated under the Legal Framework to Support Cultural Activities (RJAAC) and the remaining was granted under SOREFIL, a regional program intended to support Azorean recreational and philharmonic societies.
RJAAC is aimed at the promotion of cultural initiatives by national and foreign individual or collective agents as "one of the ways by which society has demonstrated its capacity of initiative and creativity." In turn, SOREFIL intends to support the activities developed by music bands of Azorean recreational and philharmonic societies.
