The Government of the Azores will improve the housing conditions of six households on the island of Pico.
For this purpose, the Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity, Ana Paula Marques, authorised today the allocation of 100 thousand Euros to six families under the programme to support the renewal of degraded housing.
During the ceremony, the government official also awarded, by direct adjustment, two contract works for the renewal of two houses located in the villages of Calheta de Nesquim and Lages, municipality of Lajes do Pico, in the global amount of 77,527.00 Euros.
According to the Regional Secretary, 80 families on the island of Pico have been supported under the programme to support the renewal of degraded housing in the current legislative period, representing an investment over one million Euros.
"The allocation of these funds is critical as it provides families with the opportunity to renew their homes as well as with the possibility of improving their housing and social conditions," the government official said, adding that these support measures are also intended "to contribute to the sustainability of the local construction sector and the maintenance of jobs."
