Government of the Azores has invested 5.6 million Euros in the rehabilitation of the regional housing stock
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity revealed today that, from the beginning of this legislative period, the Government has launched procedures in a total amount of 5.6 million Euros for the rehabilitation of the houses that make up the Region's housing stock.
Speaking on the sidelines of a visit to construction of new housing projects in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, Andreia Cardoso stressed that "the Regional Directorate for Housing, through these small works, maintains a dynamics that is not only important to families but also to construction companies."
In this context, she assured that this dynamics will be maintained and, according to her estimates, the intervention in the Region's housing stock will exceed one million Euros.
"The impact of these works goes far beyond the mere recovery of a building, they help to ensure a series of conditions that will contribute to the maintenance of the population, support the preservation of buildings and stimulate economy," said Andreia Cardoso.
The four projects that she visited today represent a public investment of around 200 thousand Euros and are aimed at the structural reinforcement as well as the improvement of safety and health conditions of buildings, which will benefit families.
