Investment in housing is important contribution to the establishment of families, says Andreia Cardoso
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity defended in Santa Cruz da Graciosa that the Regional Government's investment in the recovery of degraded housing is also an important demographic stimulus, being an "essential and determining aspect in social and territorial cohesion."
"There are two fundamental aspects: provide families with the safety and health conditions in their homes and ensure that the housing stock of each of island is recovered and maintained," said Andreia Cardoso.
The Secretary for Social Solidarity spoke on the sidelines of a ceremony authorising the support for the recovery of degraded housing. She also pointed out that the support granted for rehabilitation and construction of homes, in addition to its impact on families, is an important contribution for local construction companies. In this regard, she defended that the use of regional construction companies that pay taxes and create jobs in the Region is a measure that generates wealth.
Considering the 10 grants directly allocated to families from four villages of the municipality and the protocols for support signed with the village councils of Santa Cruz and Guadalupe, the public investment allocated during this statutory visit to Graciosa exceeds 260 thousand Euros.
