Regional Government promotes event with children enrolled at 90 Free Time Occupation Centres on São Miguel
The Regional Secretariat for Social Solidarity, through the Social Security Institute of the Azores, will organise an event with the participation of 90 Free Time Centres (CATL) on São Miguel. The activity will be held Friday, July 10, and will involve the participation of over 1,650 children from the six municipalities of that island.
This initiative follows the activities organised under the Cooperation Protocol - Resource Centre of Integrated Support to the Social and Educational Development of Free Time Occupation Centres (CRAI). The latter was established between the Social Security Institute of the Azores and Private Social Solidarity Institutions with Free Time Occupation Centres from all municipalities of São Miguel.
Implemented in 2011, the CRAI protocol, aims to standardize procedures and methodologies between the various Free Time Occupation Centres of São Miguel as well as to acknowledge the value of leisure activities that promote the personal and social development of children in entertainment and educational contexts.
The event will begin at 10 AM and will take place simultaneously in the six municipalities of São Miguel: 21st Century Park in Ponta Delgada; Children's Park in Ribeira Grande; Macela Forest Park in Lagoa; Water Park in Vila Franca do Campo; Forest Park in Vila do Nordeste and Pôr do Sol Viewpoint/ Povoação Sports Hall.
