Regional Government provides building plots to another four families from Santa Maria Island
The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity signed today with four families from Santa Maria the deeds for the allocation of serviced plots under the public tender for the transfer of building plots lots in the Lombas II neighbourhood in Vila do Porto.
The serviced plots have areas ranging between 272 and 288 m2 and are intended for the construction of two-bedroom to four-bedroom houses. They were put to tender together with other building plots located on several islands of the archipelago.
In her speech, Andreia Cardoso pointed out that the campaign carried out by the Regional Government to promote the construction of housing in the various neighbourhoods/building plots owned by the Region has already put to tender 143 plots.
"We are developing different procedures and strategies to promote housing construction by providing building plots at symbolic prices, so that potential interested parties do not have to bear the cost of purchasing a plot to build their house," said the Regional Secretary.
In this regard, the government official stressed noted that licensed projects for housing construction were allocated under this initiative, which also gives the possibility of benefiting from support for housing construction, which may complement the unfunded part of a prospective bank loan.
"This campaign reinforces the decision taken by the Regional Government to increase the financial allocation for the acquisition and construction of housing by 35%," said Andreia Cardoso.
