Azores among the places to visit in 2013 according to the world's largest publisher of travel guidebooks in English
Fodor's Travel Intelligence, the world's largest publisher of travel guidebooks in English and one of the world's largest publishers of its kind, has chosen the Azores as one of the 25 places in the world to visit in 2013.
The publisher has recently released the Fodor's 2013 Go List, which includes the Azores in the restricted list of destinations to visit next year. It describes the Azores as a lush volcanic archipelago located halfway between New York and Lisbon. The Azores islands are also described for being known for world-class whale watching, hot thermal springs and picturesque cities and seaside towns.
According to Fodor's, a visit to the Azores is justified for the reason that each island has its own fascinating identity and prices are within budget.
In the list of reasons to visit the Azores, Fodor's also mentions the cosy hotel units as well as the excellent fish and seafood.
Despite noting that beaches are not the main attraction of the archipelago, the publisher highlights the temperature of the Azores sea, warmed by the Gulf Stream, which calls for a dip at almost every time of the year.
The list of 25 places to visit in 2013 includes other destinations such as Easter Island, Istanbul, Maldives, Mexico City, Montenegro, Myanmar, Sardinia, Slovenia, among others.
Fodor's publishes more than 300 guidebooks from around the world, investing in innovative publications that offer a combination of knowledge and accurate and updated information.
