The Regional Secretary for Science, Technology and Infrastructures presented this morning the interactive panel installed at São Jorge air terminal.
From now on, tourists and visitors will have at their disposal a touchscreen panel that may become "the first visiting card of our cohesion islands, allowing an interaction between the passenger who needs information about the island’s fauna, flora, geology, events, news," among other things, said José Contente.
The Regional Secretary recalled that the installation of these panels on the five cohesion islands has a double purpose of providing "information and simultaneously promoting the island as a tourist destination, and that is naturally related to economic activities."
José Contente also stressed that "we can project the future more efficiently in these dialogues between the human being and the machine. This digital culture that can be further enhanced in the Azores on a daily basis with increasingly modern equipments, thus placing the Region hand-in-hand with innovations taking place in other parts of the world, where this type of equipment already exists and has given good results."
Speaking during the presentation of this interactive panel, the government official also stressed that the Government's intention is to "continue to promote the Azores in a modern way as well as digital culture through the use of these equipments."
