Vítor Fraga says the Azores have "exceptional conditions" for events such as Red Bull Cliff Diving
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport said on Saturday that the Azores have "exceptional conditions" for the organisation of events such as the Red Bull Cliff Diving. The government official stressed that this is a "highly prominent event both nationally and internationally."
For Vítor Fraga, "this evidence demonstrates the good things the Azores have to offer, a Region where there is a perfect symbiosis between men and nature." In this context, "the Regional Government will certainly do everything within its reach to continue this event and organise others."
Hence, the Regional Secretary assured that the Regional Government will do everything within its reach to "continue this event and organise other events that also include a strong nature component," which is one of the major features of the Region's tourism offer.
Vítor Fraga recalled that last year, the event that took place in the Azores was the most watched on the Internet of all the Red Bull Cliff Diving competition events. The government official stressed that this fact "contributes to the projection of the Region among millions of people around the world."
The Regional Secretary for Tourism stressed that nearly 70 percent of this year's issue of the official championship magazine consists of images taken during the Azores event last year. According to him, the selection of these images "speaks for itself." The event held in the Azores "is considered a return to the origins of this sport as it featured dives directly off the rocks."
With regard to the event's organisation and promoters, this is also a sign that the event "met their expectations and for that reason, they have returned this year."
"We believe that we have all the conditions to ensure the organisation of this event in the Azores in the future," stated the Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport.
