The Regional Centre for Handicrafts (CRAA), in partnership with the Anda&Fala Association, will open the first edition of the Urban Craft Market (MUA) at Largo da Matriz, Ponta Delgada, on December 4.
This project will be implemented in the format of pop-up market and comprises ten exhibition/commercial spaces, combining design and contemporary handicrafts. The initiative will enhance the visibility of Azorean craft activities with the primary goal of promoting and disseminating the image of the Azores Handicrafts.
The Urban Craft Market also aims to recover the central role of Ponta Delgada, through parallel programming such as small workshops, talks and concerts. Under this project, there will be four events a year, one for each season that will be held in different areas of the city.
The MUA, which is also supported by the Ponta Delgada City Hall, will take place on December 4, 5, 6 and 7 from 11 AM to 7 PM. It will be open from 3 PM to 11 PM on December 8, the day that marks the traditional "Dia das Montras" (shop windows show day).
