The partnership established between the Vice-Presidency of the Government, through SDEA - Society for Business Development of the Azores, and "El Corte Inglés" will highlight, once again, Azorean products. The campaign starts Friday, June 1, at the Lisbon and Vila Nova de Gaia supermarkets.
The initiative aims, once again, to make people from these two major cities better acquainted with what is best produced in the archipelago until June 14. It will provide products from the nine islands of the Region in different production categories within the agri-food sector.
In addition to the direct sale of products, the event includes several tasting sessions and two showcooking sessions with Chef Joe Best to take place in Lisbon.
In the last two years, sales of Azorean food products grew 70% at "El Corte Inglés" supermarkets in Lisbon and Gaia. This reflects the importance that consumers attach to the quality of national products and, in particular, to the authenticity associated with the Azores Brand.
The Azorean products campaigns held in 2016 and 2017 at the Lisbon and Vila Nova de Gaia supermarkets contributed to the entry of hundreds of new references in these commercial spaces, registering significant increases in the deli meats and preserves categories.
