Azores Handicrafts Exhibition during Sanjoaninas Festivities in Angra do Heroísmo
The Vice-Presidency of the Government, through the Regional Centre for Handicrafts (CRAA), promotes, for the eleventh consecutive year, a handicrafts exhibition that will take place in Angra do Heroísmo. The event is included in the programme of Sanjoaninas festivities.
"M.ART - Sanjoaninas" will be held in Alto das Covas between June 17 and 26. It aims to promote and disseminate Azores handicrafts by displaying and marketing products as well as to stimulate the movement of goods and traditional economy.
In order to the seize the potentialities of a period when tourism flows to Terceira Island are higher, "M.ART - Sanjoaninas" will enhance the visibility of the works produced by 21 craft units from Terceira and one from São Miguel.
Visitors will be able to appreciate works using different craft materials and techniques, including wood, jewellery, pottery, embroidery, patchwork, lace, clothing accessories, pyrography, leather, whalebone and tin, among others.
"M.ART - Sanjoaninas" will open on June 17 at 6 PM and may be visited everyday from 7 PM to 12 AM; admission is free.
