The Gross Domestic Product (GDP), an indicator that shows the evolution of the state of the economy and wealth production, registered a real growth of 2% in the Azores in the second quarter of this year, compared to the same period of 2016.
The data revealed today by the Regional Statistics Service (SREA) also demonstrates that consolidation of the recovery of the regional economy is also reflected on the behaviour of the monthly Economic Activity Indicator (IAE); the latter registered a growth rate of 2.3% compared to the previous months.
With the estimate now published, first quarter growth is also revised upwards, from 1.9% to 2.2%.
The consistent economic growth in the Azores represents more jobs and more wealth.
