The Vice-Presidency of the Government, through the Society for Business Development of the Azores (SDEA), marks the "Day of the Azores and the Holy Spirit" next Sunday, May 20, with a typical lunch, cultural activities and a session to disseminate the products bearing the Azores Brand seal. The event is organised in partnership with the House of the Azores of the North and Mercadinho Açores, the first and only Azores Brand shop in the city of Porto.
As part of the "Roadshow Taste Azores 2018" project, the initiative includes a lunch with the traditional Holy Spirit soup to be held at the Main Hall of the Village Council of Bonfim.
The programme also features the performance of Azorean musician Victor Castro and Azorean comedian Luís Filipe Borges, in addition to traditional Azorean music performed by Francisco Cymbron (violin), Daniela Duarte (soprano) and Leonor Sá (cello).
Mercadinho dos Açores is the only shop selling Azorean products in the city of Porto. It concluded the process to join the Azores Brand in March, thus becoming the first "Certified by Nature" establishment in northern Portugal.
Through its various initiatives, the "Roadshow Taste Azores 2018" aims to promote regional products, especially those bearing the "Azores Brand" seal, in various regions of Mainland Portugal. It actively contributes to the growth of exports by enhancing the visibility and marketing of Azorean products.
