The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, Employment and Business Competitiveness, will support seventy-five craft projects in an amount over 125 thousand Euros. These projects represent a total investment of 230 thousand Euros.
The projects have applied for the financial support measures allocated under the Incentive Scheme for the Development of the Azores Handicrafts (SIDART) for this year; they cover areas ranging from crafts training to innovation.
The crafts training projects, which amount to 18 thousand Euros, will be subsidised under SidArt by nearly nine thousand Euros.
With regard to projects intended to revitalise this sector, the total investment of 9,500 thousand Euros will correspond to a governmental support of about five thousand Euros.
For investment projects in craft production units applying for this scheme, which represent an overall investment of 139 thousand Euros, the amount allocated will be set at 78 thousand Euros.
In the area of qualification and product innovation, several projects amounting to an overall investment of 62 thousand Euros have applied under this incentive scheme, which corresponds to a financial support of 32 thousand Euros.
The Incentive Scheme for the Development of Azores Handicrafts was established with the aim of promoting sustainable development of handicrafts within the regional economy, through a series of measures designed to consolidate this support system.
With the allocation of support to handicrafts, the Regional Government of the Azores implements another measure provided in the Azorean Agenda for Employment Creation and Business Competitiveness.
