Government of the Azores already supported the improvement of the housing conditions of 615 families on Terceira in the current legislative period
The Regional Director for Housing stated today that the Government has already supported, through several housing programmes, a total 615 families living on the island of Terceira.
Speaking at the ceremony for the authorisation of support to degraded housing, Carlos Faias stressed that the aid already granted amounts to 4.3 million Euros.
"More than one hundred households have benefited or are currently benefiting from subsidies for the recovery and rehabilitation of degraded housing," added the Regional Director.
During the ceremony held today in Angra do Heroísmo, the Government approved a total of 14 support measures for the recovery of degraded housing and termite-infested buildings.
This represents an investment of the Regional Government of about 160 thousand Euros. It is intended to improve the living conditions of more than forty people residing in several villages of the municipalities of Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória.
With this support, beneficiary families will be able to remain in their villages of origin, thus maintaining their family and neighbour relations.
"This ceremony, like many others already carried out, formalises the allocation of support and demonstrates the Regional Government's commitment to improve the living conditions of Azorean families on a daily basis," stressed Carlos Faias.
In his speech, the Regional Director stressed that the distribution of taxes paid by all Azoreans is also "a fundamental tool in the allocation of public resources to revitalise the construction sector."
