Carlos César expresses his sorrow over the death of former President of the Canaries, Adán Martin Menis
Carlos César said that he received the news of the death of former President of the Canaries, Adán Martin Menis, with deep sorrow.
In a letter addressed to the current President of that archipelago, Paulino Rivero Baute, the President of the Azorean Government said that it had “the honour and privilege to be acquainted with Adán Martin, particularly during the years when the assumed the Presidency of the Government of the Canaries, having witnessed his dedication to the public cause, to his political vision and to committed and effective work that he carried out in the defence of his beliefs.”
Recalling Adán Martin’s visit to the Azores, under the 10th Conference of Outermost Regions in September 2004, Carlos César stressed the “the friendship and the fruitful cooperation we have established in the protection of interests of our regions among the European Union.”
Furthermore, the President of the Azorean Government also evoked “the numerous personal qualities of Adán Martin, who remains a political figure and a human reference not only in the Canaries, but also in all Outermost Regions,” sending, on his behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Azores, heartfelt condolences to Pauline Baute and to the people of the Canary Islands, particularly to the family of Adán Martin for the loss of a human being and a politician.
