President of the Government highlighted use of public incentives for the reconversion of vineyards
The President of the Government highlighted the use of available public incentives for the reconversion and restructuring of vineyards as part of the strategy that is being developed for the revitalisation of this sector in the Region.
"We are aware of the path we still have to follow, but we are encouraged by the journey we have already made and the results achieved so far," Vasco Cordeiro stressed, adding that a total of four million Euros has been allocated to this specific area.
Vasco Cordeiro spoke at the opening of "Wine In Azores in 2015," stressing that the wine sector has been an investment promoted by the Regional Government in partnership with private producers; the results are already visible on several islands of the archipelago.
"As part of the revitalisation of the sector, there is a clear strategy of the Government as to what it can bring to the generation of wealth and employment in our Region," said the President of the Government.
According to him, several islands have shown a great appetite to use the support mechanisms aimed at private producers, namely the islands of Pico, Graciosa and Terceira.
