Regional Directorate for Communities Presents Project for Florianópolis Centre of Azorean Culture
Between October 13 and 17, the Regional Directorate for Communities will publicly present in the Azores the project for the Centre of Azorean Culture in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, developed by the Florianópolis Urban Planning Institute.
This project has the support of several Brazilian entities, including the Centre of Azorean Studies from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, the Santa Catarina Institute of History and Geography, the House of the Azores from the island of Santa Catarina, the Artistic Heritage Institute, the City Council, the Florianópolis City Hall, the Franklin Cascaes Foundation, the Santa Catarina Cultural Foundation, the State Department of Tourism, among others.
The presentation will be attended by architect Joel Pacheco, the Secretary of State for Tourism and Sports César Souza Junior, and Councillor Celso Sandrini, who was the first person responsible for the creation of this project.
This project is of great importance both for the Azorean community of Santa Catarina and for the Azores, as it seeks to preserve our heritage on Brazilian land.
The events for the public presentation of the project will take place at the sala de reservados of the Angra do Heroísmo Public Library and Regional Archive on the 13th at 4:30 PM, at the Regional Directorate for Communities in Horta on the 14th at 4:30 PM, and at the Regional Laboratory of Civil Engineering in Ponta Delgada also at 4:30 PM.
