Vasco Cordeiro restates Government's investment in social support for Azorean families
The President of the Government said today that the future premises of the Day Nursery of "Casa do Povo" of Lajes das Flores, currently installed at an old school building, are a clear evidence of the Government's commitment to support families and renew existing buildings.
"This is a social investment that clearly defines the path we want to follow in the Azores. Our path is guided by the support to families, with the provision of better conditions for families in the specific case of Lajes das Flores," stated Vasco Cordeiro. The President of the Government spoke to journalists at the end of a visit to the renewal and improvement works of the old school.
Vasco Cordeiro stressed that the new day nursery with capacity for thirty children "will meet the needs of this municipality" and it is also "a clear sign of the Government's commitment to invest in the renewal of existing buildings."
The President of the Government also underlined the importance of the "partnership" established between the Regional Government and the Lajes das Flores Town Hall, which has found a solution that "best serves the families from that municipality."
The new day nursery has an estimated budget of 300 thousand Euros, an investment supported by the Regional Government of the Azores, which will also support the operation of this social equipment with the aim of improving the conditions under which this service is provided as the municipal day nursery will be also integrated in the new facilities.
