The Regional Director for Youth stressed today "the capacity and willingness" of Azorean schools "to encourage youngsters to develop innovative entrepreneurial skills that are success-oriented and able to meet the challenges posed by the knowledge society."
Pilar Damião de Medeiros spoke during the activity "Entrepreneur for a Day," carried out by the Nordeste Vocational Training School on São Miguel. The government official took the opportunity to praise the commitment demonstrated by schools in the organisation of this event throughout the archipelago.
The Regional Director emphasised the programmes developed by the Regional Director for Youth in the areas of information, associations, mobility, free time occupation, creativity, entrepreneurship, voluntary work and citizenship, considering them as opportunities for Azorean youngsters.
The initiative "Entrepreneur for a Day" that falls within the government's programme "Entrepreneurial Education: the path to success!" is intended to provide students with the opportunity of becoming entrepreneurs for a day through a learning-by-doing method.
Hence, young entrepreneurs can experience all stages of business creation, from its inception to its implementation.
