The Santa Barbara Centre of the Carlos Machado Museum in Ponta Delgada will hold a Mass dedicated to its patron saint to be celebrated on December 4 at 12 PM, thus resuming a long lost tradition.

The Santa Bárbara Church, which reopened to the public on July 7, 2011 following the restoration works carried out in the building, is part of an old "recolhimento" (small convent) that is now the Santa Bárbara Centre of the Carlos Machado Museum.

This 18th century church reflects the decoration style of the time when it was built.

The mass will feature piano and violin pieces performed by members of the Ponta Delgada Conservatory.
