Several members of the Regional Government attended the launch of the book "Das Autonomias à Autonomia e à Independência - O Atlântico Político entre os Séculos XV e XVI" (From Autonomies to Autonomy and to Independence - The Political Atlantic from the 15th to 21st centuries).

The event, held at the lobby of the Regional Legislative Assembly building on Thursday night, was presided over by the President of the Regional Assembly, Francisco Botelho, and was attended by other government members, including the Regional Secretaries of the Presidency, André Bradford, the Economy, Vasco Cordeiro, and the Environment and the Sea, Álamo Meneses.

Coordinated by Avelino de Freitas de Meneses, the recently launched book contains the minutes of a symposium held under the same the title that was jointly organised by the Centre for Overseas History (CHAM) and the Gaspar Frutuoso Studies Centre of the University of the Azores in Ponta Delgada in October 2009.
