The Government of the Azores will award next year fellowships for artistic creation in the areas of Plastic Arts, Audiovisual and Multimedia, Drama and Photography.

The decision is part of an Order issued by the Regional Director for Culture, following the publication, last week, of Ordinance no. 92/2011 of 24 November approving the Regulation on Scholarships for Artistic Creation.

The stipulated cash amount for each scholarship is of 10,000 Euros, with the exception of the Audiovisual and Multimedia scholarship, whose amount will be equivalent to 75% of the requested budget, up to a maximum of 60,000 Euros.

With the publication of the Regulations on Scholarships for Artistic Creation, the Government of the Azores intends to promote the development of individual creative and language research projects in artistic areas at the regional level and provide regional artists and professionals with the necessary conditions to develop and produce original and quality works, thus contributing to the production and dissemination of Arts.

This year, applications must be submitted until 15 December.
