Angra do Heroísmo ,  July 06, 2016

"Piano Duo" weekend on S. Miguel, Terceira and Faial under Artistic Season 2016

The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, promotes six "Piano Duo" concerts over the weekend under the Artistic Season 2016. The concerts will take place on July 8, 9 and 10 at 9:30 PM.

On Friday, July 8, the João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archive in Horta will be the venue of a recital featuring Tamila Kharambura (violin) e Anna Ulaieva (piano) who will perform sonatas by Mozart, Prokofiev and Grieg. There is also a concert scheduled for July 10 at Santana Palace.

Sisters Marta and Diana Botelho will present a recital next Friday at Teatro Ribeiragrandense and Sunday at Capitães-Generais Palace in Angra do Heroísmo. They will perform works for violin and piano that comprise a period over 100 years, ranging from "Sonatina in D" by Schubert to the "4 Preludes" by Shostakovich.

The programme of this recital contains works that give the same level of relevance to both instruments.

Also on Friday, the Main Hall of Angra do Heroísmo City Hall hosts the concert "Dialogues and Monologues" featuring Taras Poustovgar (clarinet) and Antonella Barletta (piano).

Dedicated to the 20th century music, this concert presents a varied repertoire that combines classical music and jazz.

On July 9, Alfonso Padilla (saxophone) and André Costa (piano) will give a concert at Teatro Micaelense in Ponta Delgada. The diversified programme includes solo works, contemporary works with jazz or flamenco influences as well as classical saxophone repertoire and electronic music.

The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
