The Regional Directorate for Culture (DRaC) presented a tribute picture to Natália by Azorean artist José Nuno da Câmara in Angra do Heroísmo on Wednesday.
The picture, a two-toned silkscreen - sepia and grey - in the pop-art style, is based on a photograph of Natália Correia taken "during her heyday," mentioned José Nuno da Câmara.
The silkscreen, which can be purchased from Friday at DRaC or at its dependent services, was designed to allow the creation of new images by those who wish to do so, in accordance to their creativity and the numbers of pieces available.
The presentation of this tribute picture is part of the regional celebrations of anniversary of Natália Correia's birth anniversary (90 years) and her death anniversary (20 years). Celebrations began on March 16 and will run until 2014, with the organisation of several initiatives.
In addition to the organisation of various initiatives announced on the Culture Portal under the regional celebrations, the Terceira Youth and Arts Academy will open the itinerant exhibition “Natália Correia: a Feiticeira Cotovia" (Natália Correia: the Witch and Lark) on Friday at 6 PM, followed by a conference titled Natália Correia: Vida e Poesia. 1923-1993” (Natália Correia: Life and Poetry. 1923-1993) to be delivered by António Valdemar.
