The Government of the Azores will “adopt procedures to increase in the Regional Supplementary Pension by 20111 in an amount equivalent to twice the inflation rate determined for 2010.”
The announcement was made on Friday by the Secretary of the Presidency when he presented the press release of the meeting held by the Council of the Government on the island of Flores this week.
According to André Bradford, this decision is integrated in the already announced measures to compensate Azorean families in the context “of a set of restrictive social measures adopted in the national plan.”
As it was announced on the occasion, the Regional Government will also “modify” the Azorean Complement to the Family Allowance for children and youngsters, “increasing the allocated amount to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels as well as to the unemployed who have lost their right to the unemployment benefit.”
