Computerised clinical files to be implemented at Santo Espírito Hospital on Terceira Island, announces Rui Luís
The Regional Secretary for Health announced in Angra do Heroísmo that computerised clinical files will be implemented this year at Santo Espírito Hospital on Terceira Island.
"We will implement some modules that are missing and are fundamental to the simplification and dematerialisation of clinical files so that health professionals may have more time," said Rui Luís, who spoke at the opening of the 7th Nursing Days promoted by that hospital unit.
In his speech, the Minister of Health highlighted the benefits of simplification of procedures and the priority to maximise the existing computer systems.
"The entire paper load will disappear and there will be a plan for the international classification of nursing practices," the government official said, adding that "the change will complement medical and surgical operating procedures."
Rui Luís praised the performance of nurses in the Regional Health Service as "a driving force for change" and highlighted some aspects related to their role at Santo Espírito Hospital on Terceira Island.
"They are fundamental elements in providing care to patients. In fact, they provide a very important service in the management and training of this unit and play a relevant role in the air evacuation unit," the government official stressed, noting that "this proximity is reflected in the humanisation of services ".
The Regional Secretary also revealed that the Government has issued an order listing the members of the technical team in charge of defining the strategic guidelines of the Good practices Manual for the Humanisation of the Regional Health Service.
