Regional Government acquires another eight ambulances for firefighters' corporations
The tender procedure for the acquisition of eight ambulance with the aim of increasing the responsiveness and coverage of the regional Health Service was published in the Official Gazette.
With this tender, the Government of the Azores intends to reinforce the response capacity of the Regional Health Service, providing it with ambulances that increase the coverage of assistance in the Region.
The order now published delegates to the president of the Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service (SRPCBA) the necessary powers to open the tender, taking into consideration this service operates the emergency medical ground transportation system, ensuring that accidents victims and patients receive prompt and appropriate health care.
In this context, the SRPCBA is responsible for ensuring the launch of the tender to hire vehicles and the allocation of ambulances to the responses provided by the Regional Health Service, which are coordinated with emergency services of the hospitals and island health units.
This investment, up to a maximum amount of 480 thousand Euros, will be made by the Regional Secretariat for Health, through the Investment Plan and Community funding.
