Rui Luís highlights "excellent results" achieved by Azorean firefighters in the National Manoeuvres Competition
The Regional Secretary of Health congratulated the Volunteer Firefighters of Ribeira Grande for the "excellent" results in the National Manoeuvres Competition, where they won a first place and two second places in the three categories in competition.
"I would like to welcome the commitment of our firefighters at the service of the Azorean population, as evidenced by the results in these competition, through the skill and technique in the assembly of equipment used in firefighting on a daily basis," said Rui Luís.
The Regional Secretary also highlighted the importance of “Escola de Infantes e Cadetes” (Training School) in the "levelling up" of fire brigades as well as in "assuming the mission of volunteering."
The Volunteer Firefighters of Ribeira Grande participated in the National Manoeuvres Competition, held in Penafiel, with three teams: a male team, a female team and a team of cadets.
The Azorean firefighters won in the Men's A class and were placed second in the other two categories in competition.
The National Manoeuvres Competition involved the participation of more than 700 firefighters of 18 volunteer firefighters and professionals from all over the country, divided by 28 teams.
