The Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastrcutures (SRCTE) released the list of selected candidates for post-doctoral fellowships. Of the 29 selected applications, 10 were granted post-doctoral fellowships.

The projects comprise several scientific fields, such as Earth and Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Industrial Biotechnology. The selected researchers are now required to present the documents necessary for signing the fellowship contracts, which may go up to 3 years. National and foreign researchers have applied for the fellowship programme.

The research activities will be developed within one of the R&D Units of Azores Scientific and Technological System. The selection of applications took into consideration their scientific relevance, their added value in economic terms, their efficiency and effectiveness for the business sector as well as the procedures defined for the technological transfer of result for potential final users.
