Government of the Azores on the side of young entrepreneurs to "support the beginning of their activity," assures Vítor Fraga
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport assured that the Government of the Azores "is on the side" of companies, entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs "to help them start their activities," emphasising that "the each one of them will certainly be the success of all of us."
Speaking at the opening of unOffice, PDL Business & Cowork Centre in Ponta Delgada last Thursday, Vítor Fraga pointed out that this company is a further evidence of the Government's willingness to support those who wish to invest in the Region. This initiative was born out of a project "with a global investment of 200 thousand Euros, of which 120 thousand Euros were allocated under the "Empreende Jovem" (Youth Entrepreneurship) incentive scheme".
The Regional Secretary stressed that the unOffice project seizes "the potential of the Region and the conditions provided by the Regional Government to all companies wishing to establish in the archipelago." In this regard, the government official pointed out the "strongly attractive" fiscal benefits and incentive schemes provided by the Region; the latter have been enhanced with the implementation of the new Community Support Framework and Competir+. In addition to being at the forefront of this process, the Azores are the only region in the country where companies can apply to this measure. It allows to financially support companies in various stages of their life cycles."
For Vítor Fraga, the unOffice project "is clearly identified with startups as well as with the difficulties that sometimes arise in the beginning of business activities, that is, in the beginning of great ideas." The government official added that "we should regard economic development from a perspective of supporting companies and promoting collaboration so that we may build together our common path."
"This will certainly be a place where many good ideas will arise and where their potential will be developed so that they may be effectively implemented in business development," said Vítor Fraga.
After the opening ceremony, the Regional Secretary visited the space where the first client of unOffice, the Portuguese Hotel Association, has already installed its delegation.
