Negotiations with representatives of port workers "on the right track to reach an agreement," says Vítor Fraga
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport assured that the ongoing negotiations are on the right track to reach an agreement" between the governmental department that overseas regional Port Authorities and the National Union of Port Authority Workers.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with union representatives on Tuesday, Vítor Fraga recalled that, as agreed in the last meeting, the Regional Port Authorities, jointly with the Union, have taken the commitment of "implementing a series of measures" to boost productivity, "with gains for both parties: for the company and for workers as well."
These measures have been presented and discussed. Now, the Union "will do its part, which is to present the measures and counterparts to its members."
Vítor Fraga revealed that these measures are intended "to increase productivity, which will result in gains for the company as well as for workers in the exact proportion of the productivity growth."
